Dr. John F. Williams, Pastor
Dr. John F. Williams was reared in West Point, Georgia. He attended West Point High School where he graduated with honors. Dr. Williams was an exceptional athlete in Basketball and Track & Field and received a full four year track scholarship to Morris Brown College where he excelled athletically and academically.
Dr. John F. Williams graduated from Morris Brown College; Atlanta, Georgia in May, 1986 with a B.A. in Political Science & a B.S. in Early Childhood Education. He attended Alabama State University; Montgomery, Alabama- teacher certification and Columbus State University; Columbus, Georgia-teacher certification. Dr. Williams attended The Great Commission Bible/Theological Seminary where he received his B.A.-Bible; TH.M- systematic theology; and Th. D in systematic theology and counseling. Dr. Williams' Thesis: "Overcoming Depression in a Christian Environment" became a prelude to his book which received rave reviews, "On the Edge" Brentwood Christian Press, 2000.
Dr. John F. Williams was licensed and ordained at The Greater Rising Star Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia. After two (2) years, he was called as pastor to the Liberty Hill Baptist Church, Phoenix City, Alabama. Liberty Hill grew tremendously, spiritually and numerically. After almost eight (8) years, the Lord elevated Dr. Williams to the historical Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Omaha, Nebraska. Dr. Williams followed two (2) of the greatest preaching giants of the twentieth century at Bethel Baptist Church; Dr. J.H. Jackson- former (President) National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. for 29 years and Dr. M.C. Williams. Dr. John F. Williams' ministry flourished for eight years in Omaha, Nebraska, after that, the Lord saw the need to finally send Pastor Williams back to his beginnings. The Antioch East Baptist Church called Dr. John F. Williams as the new Senior Pastor. Dr. Williams preached his first sermon on July 16, 2006 at the Antioch East Baptist Church. Dr. Williams' ministry has been covered by several media venues and newspapers in the South, Southeast and Midwest regions. Pastor Williams has received numerous awards and is a member of several organizations.
