Minister of Music & Worship
Job Description
Antioch East Baptist Church seeks a Minister of Music & Worship. The Minister of Music & Worship, who is a devoted follower of Jesus Christ and views the position as a calling from God, leads the church in a music ministry that will inspire and enhance congregational worship and fellowship, engage all age levels in a variety of music experiences and educate and promote music as an important part of the meaningful and personal worship and spiritual growth.
PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
*Provide musical rendering for Sunday worship services, special events, funerals, etc , /provide backup when not available.
*Plan, organize and lead the Ministry of Music.
*Direct the planning, coordination, operation, and evaluation of a comprehensive music ministry.
*Work in consultation with the Senior Pastor to plan the Sunday worship and special services to ensure appropriate congregational and special music that enhances and supports the worship service and experience.
*Lead, direct and support all choirs, praise team and ministries in rendering music for regular service and special events, which includes rehearsal, teaching, recruiting, supervise music staff, soloist, community outreach, special programs.
*Lead and direct annual music ministry workshops.
*Collaborate with the media team, to enhance worship experience.
*Prepare, recommend, and manage an annual music ministry budget as approved.
*Oversee the maintenance and selection of musical equipment and supplies.
*Coordinate musical support when you are not available.
PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
*Must profess faith in Jesus, Christ and exhibit a commitment to sharing Christ with others.
*Musically educated, reads music and/or at least two or more years of experience in music ministry direction preferred.
*Ability to play piano and organ preferred.
*Must possess leadership, good people skills, organizational skills, self-starter, motivator, ability to work with all age groups.
Position: Minister of Music & Worship (Part-time)
Reports to: Senior Pastor (Indirectly to Trustee Board)
Salary Range: $22,000 to $24,000 (Annually)
